In her opinion, the prohibited substance could hardly have been “sprinkled” in the laboratory on figure skater Kamila Valieva, who was disqualified for doping for 4 years in January.

“Listen, not a single athlete will take any pill from the doctor’s hands. Only a trainer can give this pill. It can not be any other way. How can children take such a pill from a doctor? We can’t do anything without a coach,” Tarasova said on the program “Life and Fate” Boris Korchevnikov on the Rossiya 1 TV channel (quote from Sports).

When asked whether Valieva should compete after her disqualification ends, Tarasova replied: “If I were in her place, I would definitely compete. It’s not her fault, she just didn’t know it. She didn’t take it from anywhere, no one slipped it to her.”
