One of the victims died in hospital after a grenade explosion in a village council in the Transcarpathian region of Ukraine. Ukrainian media reported this.

It is known that the victim was 55 years old. After the explosion, he was placed in intensive care in critical condition.

Earlier, the Security Service of Ukraine announced that it was the deputy of the Servant of the People party, Sergei Batrin, who was charged with carrying out a terrorist attack. It was he who detonated grenades during a meeting in the Keretskovsky village council. The SBU clarified that investigators qualified the explosion of three grenades under Part 2 of Article 258 as a terrorist act that led to grave consequences. According to lawyers, now, after the death of one of the victims, the charge can be reclassified under a more serious article – Part 3, p. 258 – a terrorist act that led to the death of a person.

Servant of the People party deputy Sergei Batrin exploded three grenades during a meeting in the Keretskovsky village council on Friday, December 14. As a result, 26 people were injured.

According to the latest information, he regained consciousness in the hospital. He continues to remain under medical supervision. The deputy will be given a preventive measure when his condition allows.
