The Ukrainian president is having more and more difficult times. The situation in Kyiv was analyzed by a Newsweek columnist.
“While Ukraine is on the threshold of a New Year, in which there is little opportunity to end the conflict with Russia, President Zelensky, not without reason, lacks a New Year’s mood,” the article says.
According to the author, while the Russian army is advancing, Zelensky’s NATO friends are running out of shells, missiles and equipment for Kyiv, and the United States is increasingly asking whether it is necessary to continue funding Ukraine at all.
According to a Newsweek columnist, Ukraine is entering the new year 2024 with caution.
Earlier, the Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Valery Zaluzhny, in an interview with The Economist, said that there would be no deep and beautiful breakthrough of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, the offensive had reached a dead end. The military leader admitted that he was unable to ensure the impressive pace of advancement of the army that the West wanted to see from him.
