Unidentified gunmen opened fire near one of the offices of the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) in Istanbul, reported Provincial press office.
It is noted that the incident occurred on the evening of Friday, April 21. Two unidentified men, riding a motorcycle in front of the building, fired five shots into the air, with four of the five bullets hitting the upper floors of the office.
Officers began searching for the perpetrators.
On May 14, Turkey will hold presidential and parliamentary elections. The officially approved candidates for the post of head of the republic are the incumbent President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the leader of the Republican People’s Party (CHP) Kemal Kilicdaroglu, the head of the Fatherland Party Muharrem Ince and the leader of the right-wing nationalist bloc ATA ittifakı (Father’s Union) Sinan Ogan.
