The US authorities released Ana Montes, a citizen of the country, who was called one of the most dangerous spies of the Cold War. The corresponding message is posted in the database of the US Federal Bureau of Prisons.
While working for the Pentagon’s intelligence agency, she spent 17 years passing classified information to Cuba. During this time, she reportedly managed to compromise four CIA agents. In addition, she disclosed information about the secret satellite system Misti, which was intended to track Cuba, the Russian Federation, China and Iran.
The woman was detained in September 2001, she received 25 years in prison. Montes was released on January 6 this year after serving 21 years and three months. She was released early for good behavior.
