Konstantin Tarasov, adviser to the chairman of the lower chamber, Vyacheslav Volodin, resigned from the State Duma. This was reported to Vedomosti by two interlocutors in the apparatus of the lower house. According to one of the sources, Tarasov resigned of his own free will. Vedomosti sent a request to the press service of the State Duma.
Tarasov confirmed to Vedomosti that he had resigned from the State Duma. “I decided to choose a different life trajectory,” he said.
Tarasov has been working at Okhotny Ryad since 2004 with three speakers. He came to the State Duma when Boris Gryzlov was the chairman of the lower house, then worked under Sergei Naryshkin, and remained after October 2016, when Volodin headed the chamber.
In 2016, Tarasov was appointed head of the State Duma’s department for public relations and media relations. In June 2020, he moved to the position of Deputy Chief of Staff of the State Duma, in this position he oversaw the Press Service and Information Department, the Expert Analytical Department and the State Duma Library Collections Department.
In September 2022, Tarasov resigned from this post and took the position of Volodin’s adviser, and continued to interact with the media. Instead of him, the post of deputy head of the Duma apparatus was taken by Sergey Pushkin, who previously served as editor-in-chief of Duma TV.
According to the regulation on the apparatus of the State Duma, it provides legal, organizational, documentation, analytical, informational, financial, logistical, social and household support for the activities of deputies, committees and commissions, the chairman of the Duma and his deputies, etc.
