On September 12, the first stage of the All-Russian Olympiad for schoolchildren starts

The dates for the first stage of the All-Russian Olympiad for schoolchildren, which traditionally takes place in schools, have been announced. It will start next Monday, September 12, with Olympiads in Law and Physical Education. Then, the school stages of the Olympiad in technology, ecology, foreign languages, literature, and then in other subjects will be held. The school stage will end in mid-October.

In total, the intellectual competition will be held in 24 subjects for students in grades 5-11, but in the Olympiad in mathematics and the Russian language, children can start participating from the 4th grade. By the way, almost 18 million people took part in the Olympiad in Russia last academic year. Pupils in grades 7-11 who have successfully passed the school stage of the VOSh, which is an average of 20 percent of all participants, are invited to the municipal stage of the competition.

The second, municipal stage of the Olympiad will be held in November-December, the regional stage of the competition will take place in January-February, and the final one in March-April.

According to the scientific director of the Center for Pedagogical Excellence in Moscow, Ivan Yashchenko, any child can try his hand at the school stage, regardless of his level of training and experience in the Olympiad movement.

– The uniqueness of the school stage of the All-Russian Olympiad lies in the tasks. They are prepared in such a way as to interest any child. You can try your hand at several subjects. Of course, you should not choose all 24 disciplines. But, having solved tasks in several subjects, the student will be able to make a choice by concentrating on his favorite science. To feel a little more confident, we advise you to look at the tasks and solutions of previous years. They will help to form an idea about the Olympiad,” Ivan Yashchenko noted.
