On Kadyrov’s instructions, the chapter on repressed peoples in textbooks will be changed

In the new Russian history textbook for grades 10-11, the chapter on repressed peoples will be changed, said the Chairman of the Chechen Parliament Magomed Daudov. A working group will be created from the leaders of the regions whose peoples were repressed.

We are talking about a chapter that says that based on the facts of cooperation with the occupiers of the Balkars, Ingush, Kalmyks, Karachais, Crimean Tatars, Chechens in 1943-1944, it was decided to liquidate the state formations of these peoples in the USSR and subject them to collective punishment – violent relocation to other regions.

“The updated Russian history textbook for grades 10-11 caused a wave of indignation among representatives of peoples repressed in the USSR,” Daudov wrote in his telegram channel. According to him, the head of the Chechen Republic, Ramzan Kadyrov, instructed to look into such an important issue.

Daudov brought this topic to the Department of the Presidential Administration for Internal Policy and to the author of the textbook, Vladimir Medinsky. The latter, according to the speaker of the parliament of the republic, admitted that this chapter was taken without changes from previous editions and assured of his readiness to put it in order. Daudov also received support from the Russian Ministry of Education.

As a result, a working group was created from among the heads of regions whose peoples were repressed. It is with her that proposals for inclusion in the specified chapter of the history textbook for high school students will be agreed upon.

Daudov, speaking about this, emphasized: thousands of representatives of repressed peoples made a huge contribution to the Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
