The 2023-2024 season became revolutionary for volleyball in the Ivanovo region. If earlier volleyball in the region was represented only at the amateur level, and Tekstilshchik played in the First League, now everything has changed for the better. In the summer of 2023, VK “Textilshchik” received professional status and entered the Russian Championship among teams of the Major League “B”. There, the red-blacks quickly got used to it and staked out a place in the first half of the standings, currently occupying 3rd position based on the results of 22 matches played.
Important tournament matches for Tekstilshchik will take place on January 13 and 14. The red-blacks will play away against VC Obninsk, which currently occupies 2nd place in the standings. There are only 2 points between Tekstilshchik and Obninsk in the standings, which significantly increases the red-blacks’ chances of improving their position, especially since the team from Ivanovo will have support.
For the first time in the history of the club, a mass attendance of fans will be organized for the away match. A whole bus will travel from Ivanovo to Obninsk with Tekstilshchik fans who want to support their team in important matches that will affect the final position of the red-blacks. If Tekstilshchik can win, it will break into 2nd place in the Major League “B” standings.
