Omsk rhythmic gymnast was allowed to compete for Germany

On Sunday, November 13, it became known about the permission of ex-Omsk Anastasia Simakova to play for the German rhythmic gymnastics team. His athlete was issued by the German Rhythmic Gymnastics Federation, the press service of the organization said.

The press service of the German Rhythmic Gymnastics Federation on Sunday, November 13, reported that the organization had issued permission to play for the German national team, a native of Omsk, two-time world junior champion Anastasia Simakova.

Earlier, Stuttgarter Nachrichten wrote that Simakova arrived in Germany in the summer. A year earlier, her parents moved to the country under the repatriation program and live in Nuremberg.

In October, the gymnast received a German passport. She applied for admission to the German base in Schmiden.

On November 5, the athlete already performed in the hoop exercise at the German Championship stage for the Eintracht Frankfurt club, receiving 28.40 points there.

As a result, now, if Simakova passes the selection within Germany, she will play for the national team at international tournaments.

The situation with the change of sports and ordinary citizenship by an Omsk citizen, among other things, can be explained by politics – in the situation with the Russian SVO, in many sports our athletes are suspended from international competitions for far-fetched reasons. For example, world tournaments in biathlon, skiing, hockey and football were left without Russian teams. As a result, without the Russians in the first three of these sports, the competition has definitely fallen and they have become dramatically less interesting to sponsors and fans.

And the NHL, for example, in a situation of wild bitterness of the European hockey federations against Russia, postponed the World Cup with the participation of the strongest teams to 2025, which it itself holds.
