Omsk hockey players and in the Kharlamov Cup will play with Novosibirsk

On Tuesday, March 7, the first opponent of the Omsk Hawks in the playoffs became known in the MHL – the Siberian Snipers. The first match of the teams will take place on the ice in Omsk on March 11.

On Tuesday, March 6, the Omsk Hawks recognized their opponent in the playoffs. Earlier, the regular season of the MHL season 2022/23 ended. Following the results of its first stage and play-in, eight teams advanced to the playoffs in the Eastern Conference. Their list is as follows:

7. “Auto”

8. “Siberian Snipers”

The fact that the Omsk Hawks won the Vostok conference in the regular season, we wrote. At the same time, we also explained the new playoff formula for this year. After the regular season, the hawks waited for the results of the play-in to find out the first opponent in the Kharlamov Cup. And now it is clear – in the 1/8 finals it is the “Siberian Snipers”. They finished eighth in the standings.

Our team will start the series of up to three victories at home on March 11-12 at 13:00 at the Avangard Academy, the next meeting is on March 15 in Novosibirsk. Thus, a coincidence – Omsk and Novosibirsk met in the playoffs not only in the KHL (Avangard and Sibir), but also in the MHL, the press service of the Omsk Hawks reported.

If necessary, the opponent will play the fourth match on March 16 in Novosibirsk, and the fifth – again in Omsk, on March 18.
