Omsk Avangard lost outright to Barys in Astana

On December 28, Omsk hockey players played a KHL championship match against Barys and were defeated without any options – 1:5. Their only goal was scored by Mikhail Gulyaev.

On December 28, Avangard lost to Barys 1:5 on its ice. Thus, he continued his exit with a defeat after defeating Sibir on its ice in good style. After the break in the championship, the Hawks now have 5 matches, three of which were lost.

In the first period, the guests already had a hard time, the hosts actively pressed, and this led to a goal from Apalkov in the 12th minute. 1:0 – Barys took the lead.

In the second period the score did not change. So, in an interesting way, all the other goals of the high-scoring match happened in the third period. At first it became 2:0 after Savitsky’s goal on the power play, where he was assisted by Sklenicka and Oberg. Next, Kamara scored for the hosts.

The judges unfortunately didn’t count one goal from Omsk, but we agree that they wouldn’t have been able to win with it either – after all, by the 50th minute the score still reached a crushing 5:0, and only Mikhail Gulyaev’s goal in the 57th with assists from Belyaev and Filatyev “soaked” the numbers on the scoreboard.

This has not changed the result. Avangard lost, and it was a shame.

Earlier we wrote about how the Omsk club won in overtime, “Sibir” won 3:2.

Next, the “hawks” will complete this trip with a match on December 30 in Tolyatti against Lada.
