Omsk “Avangard” lost heavily to “Vityaz” near Moscow the day before

The day before, October 18, Avangard met with Vityaz in Balashikha. Let us remember that it was in this city near Moscow that the Omsk team was based while the G-Drive Arena was being built.
The Hawks lost this match with a final score of 2:5. At the same time, Avangard hockey players scored both goals into the opponents’ goal in the first period. Denis Vengryzhanovsky and Valentin Pyanov distinguished themselves.
In the second period the situation changed – the Knights went on the offensive. The Hawks conceded 3 goals in 4 minutes.
In the 25th minute of the match, Jeremy Roy sent the puck into the Avangard goal. In the 28th minute he scored a double and the score was level. Another minute and a half later, Derek Barak brought Vityaz ahead.
After that, Andrei Mishurov stood in the goal of the Omsk team instead of Ilya Proskuryakov. Avangard tried to turn the tide of the game, but nothing worked out. In the 33rd minute the score became 2:4 in favor of Vityaz – Scott Wilson scored a goal. Derek Barak put an end to the game by scoring the fifth goal at the end of the third period.
