On Tuesday, October 24, Avangard played a KHL championship match with Ak Bars in Kazan and lost in overtime. The score is 2:1. Mikhail Belyaev scored the goal for the Omsk team.

On October 24, Avangard met Ak Bars on the road and lost 1:2 in overtime. In the first period, the Omsk team missed a quick goal when Safonov scored against the Volga team. Then, throughout all three periods, the guests tried to win back, and the Kazan team “dry” the game in their signature style. In terms of content, it turned out that the Omsk team clearly often played stronger, but either they were unlucky or the opponent’s goalkeeper was “godly”.

At the end of the third period, the “hawks” nevertheless equalized the score – after Tkachev’s pass, Mikhail Belyaev put his stick in the “patch” and scored. 1:1 – in regular time Kazan did not retain the victory.

In overtime, Avangard head coach Mikhail Kravets, as has happened more than once this season, released one extra fielder instead of the goalkeeper. The advantage is that even the second line of the guests successfully pressed the Ak Bars leaders in attempts to score. And yet, this time it did not bring victory – in the 64th minute Lyamkin scored into an empty goal against the Kazan team.

Thus, on this trip the “hawks” scored 3 points out of 8 possible. Having lost to the outsider “Vityaz” and the middle peasant “Lada”, they took a point from one giant in Kazan, and in Magnitogorsk they defeated another, “Matellurg”, in overtime.

Next, the Omsk club will play at home on October 26 against Salavat Yulaev.
