Ombudsman Volynets proposed to establish a holiday of gratitude to parents

Commissioner for Children’s Rights in the Republic of Tatarstan, founder of the National Parents’ Committee Irina Volynets called for consideration of the introduction of the All-Russian holiday of gratitude to parents “Thank you for life!”. This is reported RT with a link to a copy of the Ombudsman’s appeal.
Volynets explained that the initiative arose during the two-month strategic sessions of the Generation-2050 demographic forum. She clarified that a roadmap with an initiative was drawn up at the forum, which was presented to the members of the grand jury and received support.
According to the Ombudsman, the introduction of this holiday should contribute to the harmonization of parent-child relations, strengthening the family and the connection between generations. Volynets believes that such a holiday will help parents improve relations with their children, children get the joy of communicating with their parents, and will also allow the state to create a special culture of children’s relations with their parents, thereby strengthening family values.
