Silver and bronze medalists in swimming at the 2012 Olympic Games Anastasia and Sergey Fesikov held a master class for Sakhalin swimmers on September 22. The event was attended by more than 70 students from the water sports school, as well as coaches and parents, the press service of the regional Ministry of Sports reported.
“Today we looked at all types of swimming with the children. I talked about my professional sports career and received many questions. It’s nice that children have a genuine interest in swimming. Whoever manages not to lose this interest and develop it will definitely achieve success,” noted Sergei Fesikov.
He added that he had visited hundreds of swimming pools around the world, but the water sports complex on Sakhalin still managed to impress him. In his opinion, with such an approach to the development of professional sports, the island land will definitely produce champions of Russia, Europe and the world, and perhaps even the Olympics.
In the practical part of the master class, the stars of world swimming analyzed the mistakes of beginning swimmers, showed exercises for practicing swimming techniques, and talked about the intricacies of the starting jump and a successful finish. Anastasia Fesikova revealed the secrets of her favorite discipline – backstroke swimming.
Previously “MK on Sakhalin” wrote, that two-time Olympic champion in Atlanta Denis Pankratov and Olympic medalists in London Anastasia and Sergey Fesikov became participants in the 1st International swimming tournament “SakhMasters-2023”.
