Two-time Olympic silver medalists in pairs figure skating Evgenia Tarasova and Vladimir Morozov announced the end of their sports career.

“We are finishing sports activities, not suspending them. Unfortunately, maybe fortunately. But we won’t go to competitions anymore, we won’t perform anywhere,” said Vladimir Morozov on the “Free program” podcast on Channel One (quote from the publication “Championship”). According to him, they planned to retire last year, but in the end they decided to “compete for one more year.”

The athletes reported that they already have an understanding of what they will do in the future, but they will not disclose it yet. “Did we have a successful career? Yes, there are grandiose plans ahead,” Evgenia Tarasova clarified.

Evgenia Tarasova and Vladimir Morozov have been performing together since 2012. In 2018, at the Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, they won silver medals as part of the Russian team in the team figure skating tournament. In 2022, at the Beijing Games, they won silver in pair skating. The couple also won the European Championships twice and twice won silver medals at the world championships.
