Two-time Olympic champion in pairs figure skating Oleg Protopopov died at the age of 92, this was reported by The Skating Lesson portal on the social network Facebook (owned by Meta, recognized as extremist and banned in the Russian Federation).
“Rest in peace, Oleg Protopopov, two-time Olympic champion. Your contribution to sports will never be forgotten,” the portal says.
Oleg Protopopov performed in pairs skating with his wife Lyudmila Belousova. In 1964 and 1968 they received the title of Olympic champions.
