Olympic champion in speed skating, State Duma deputy Svetlana Zhurova explained the unification of 35 states that intend to ensure that Russia and Belarus are not allowed to participate in the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
Earlier, the head of the Lithuanian Ministry of Education, Science and Sports, Jurgita Shyugzhdinene, said that 35 states intend to demand the non-admission of Russia and Belarus to participate in the Olympic Games in Paris in 2024. The group of opponents of the participation of Russian and Belarusian athletes included, among others, Germany, France, the USA, Great Britain.
Zhurova recalled that all countries of the world take part in the Olympic Games, and not just these 35 states. According to her, the intentions of these countries can be understood, but the desire to catch up with hysteria right now is difficult to explain. She noted that at the moment the Russian team is not admitted to the Olympic Games, and the head of the IOC, Thomas Bach, only suggested waiting for the summer to resolve this issue.
“I think they are saying this to put pressure on our minds. So that we get tired of listening to this whining and decide ourselves not to go to the Olympics. That’s the point – to load our information field with such statements so that we ourselves brush off the Olympics, ”she said.
Zhurova suggested assessing the situation “philosophically” and avoiding radical solutions. She noted that the special operation in Ukraine continues, and by the summer the situation may change.
“It feels like these 35 countries feel how the NWO could end, which is why they are in such a hurry,” she said.
