Oleg Ryabchuk will move from Greek Olympiacos to Spartak Moscow

Moscow “Spartak” is preparing another transfer to the entrance and in the near future may announce the transfer of the Moldovan football player of the Greek “Olympiacos” Oleg Ryabchuk. According to unofficial data, the red-whites will pay about €7 million for him, including bonuses. It is assumed that the 25-year-old newcomer should strengthen the left flank of Spartak.
Very active this summer on the transfer market, Spartak, apparently, will soon sign a contract with the defender of the national team of Moldova and Olympiacos Oleg Ryabchuk. Information about the interest of the red-whites to him appeared a long time ago, and negotiations with the Greek club seemed to have reached a dead end. At some point, the Spartak management completely switched to another potential candidate who could strengthen the position of the left-back, the Brazilian Rogerio from Sassuolo. However, when the deal was already almost in the final stage, it fell through the fault of the Italian club with the wording “we do not want to deal with the Russians for ethical reasons.”
As a result, the Spartacists returned to the candidacy of Riabciuc and increased the financial offer to Olympiacos, according to Greek sources, up to €6 million, and taking into account bonuses, this amount could increase to €7 million. Moreover, Transfermarkt estimates the current value of the Moldovan footballer at €4 million , and Olympiakos bought it in 2021 from the Portuguese Pacos de Ferreira for €2 million. The Greek radio station Sport FM reported that the transfer should be completed in the near future, and Ryabchuk himself would conclude an agreement under the 2 + 1 scheme with with a salary of €2 million per year.
By itself, this transfer, of course, is not impressive. Still, you can’t say that Moldovan players, even at the level of the national team, are in high demand. But in a particular case, it should be noted that Ryabchuk is, in fact, a product of the Portuguese football school, since he moved with his parents to this country as a child. As a result, even the famous Porto drew attention to him, which, however, later gave him to Pacos de Ferreira. But Ryabchuk played 37 matches in a rather serious championship of Portugal, from where he moved to one of the leading teams in the Greek league. For Olympiacos, he played 120 matches, including in European competitions, and he also has 41 matches for the national team on his track record. Now Ryabchuk is considered the best football player in Moldova and was officially awarded this title three times in a row – in 2020, 2021 and 2022.
Experts note, first of all, the endurance and efficiency of a potential newcomer to Spartak, who can cover the entire left flank. At the same time, it is technically equipped and actively involved in attacks. In principle, the red-whites already have a player with such functionality – this is Daniil Khlusevich, who, moreover, is now in good shape and brings a lot of benefits. But, apparently, Ryabchuk is acquired in order not only to compete with Khlusevich, but also to unload him in a busy calendar.
Although it is possible that the head coach of Spartak Guillermo Abascal sees Ryabchuk in some other role. The Red-Whites have so far failed to agree on the transfer of the central defender. Serb Strahinja Erakovic from Red Star Zvezda chose to move to Zenit, while the transfer of Colombian Davinson Sanchez from English Tottenham failed for about the same reasons as Rogerio from Sassuolo.
By the way, in the story with Ryabchuk, there is also no guarantee that something will not go wrong at the last moment. Despite all the transfer activity of Spartak, so far he has managed to sign only two newcomers – Theo Bongonda and Jesus Medina. Moreover, it is curious that both, like Ryabchuk, are players with a striking left foot. So in the selection policy of the red-whites, there is still a kind of left bias.
