“Old Russians” in Turkey expressed extreme irritation with the morals of the “new comers”

The relocators from the Russian Federation, whom the Turks are unsuccessfully trying to count by door-to-door, outnumbered not only vacationers and emigrants from other countries, but even the local population in some resort villages. Becoming a “national majority” right before our eyes, recent Russians are already declaring that in Turkey, as in Russia, there are two main troubles. Only, unlike the motherland, not fools and roads, but fools … and Russians.

Russian-speaking residents of Turkey are now divided into old and new “Turkish Russians”, between whom something like hazing is taking place.

“Our people are wild here,” says 26-year-old Muscovite Nika, who moved to the Turkish Riviera with her husband of the same age a month ago. – Some kind of directly thieves’ principle of “registration”: not registered – not a person. They say that since you have recently arrived, and we have been for a long time, then do not interfere here with your needs!

– They got stuck – and right from the swoop they decided to arrange everything for themselves here, – the Russian wives of the Turks are indignant. – And we, who have been living here for 15-20 years, you might think, suckers, since they still haven’t arranged it. No respect! And their registration does not concern us, but the Turkish authorities. But not in a criminal sense, but in the literal sense, since only ours manage to settle in areas prohibited for foreigners to live.

Russian-speaking Turkish women say that compatriots who “came in large numbers” immediately united on a territorial basis into a kind of house committee and obsessively promote their initiatives. Either to catch stray cats, or to Russify the websites of Turkish banks, in one place they even swung at the sacred – they rolled up paper so that the mullah in the mosque “did not make noise at night.”

– The Turks, of course, will not listen to them, – says Alena, who has long lived in the vicinity of Antalya with a Turkish husband. – At first, they even laughed, these demands were retold to each other, like jokes about new Russians. But the more Russians there are, the more irritation of the locals accumulates. They are patient, but if it breaks…

– Nu and that such a thing is happening, to patience snapped? The Russians who came to you are not poor, they spend their money in your country. What’s wrong?

– For the most part, yes. And it accumulates from trifles, from which disrespect is directly visible. For example, in our village, only a lazy local has not asked me why the new Russians keep talking about stopping? Everywhere – in shops, in a bank, in a restaurant, in the yard – everything stops and stops, and so irritably.

– Maybe they can’t find public transport? Are they asking for help?

– Alas. In Turkish, the stop is durak. And ours, as you understand, cover them all in a row not at all in search of a bus. I’m still silent, I do not explain what’s the matter. But someone will explain one day. And “fool” for a Turk is an insult not at all as childishly innocent as the Russian equivalent. I would also remind the newcomers that now the situation itself is explosive. This is when you sit in the “all inclusive” without sticking out, you are dear guests of the country. But now, in the face of the global crisis, the Turks are also having a hard time: the lira has collapsed, and prices have risen, the high holiday season is over.

However, the main Turkish trouble, according to the general opinion of the “old Russians” who have been living in Turkey for 10 years or more, is the influx of relocators. “The Turkish crisis has affected those who receive income in local currency – that is, the Turks themselves,” writes one of the bloggers. – That is, the Turks at home, in Turkey, it became expensive to live. And for Russians who already have real estate, prices in all other areas in terms of rubles remained unchanged.”

– Turks from small villages do not understand how Russians work if they do not keep a shop or a fruit collapse, do not rent a guesthouse, do not cook shawarma, – explains the Russian, who has been living in Turkish Marmaris for the 4th year. – And our relocators, of course, either work remotely, or have a good income, there are absolutely no poor of ours here. And for them, a doner kebab for 130 rubles and a pomegranate fresh for 70 rubles are nothing. And the Turks are expensive. This is where resentment and misunderstanding arise. Although the point is not in people, but in the course.

It is true: last year 1 lira was worth 10 rubles, and today 1 lira is 3 rubles 28 kopecks. That is why, for Russians, a bowl of soup in the most expensive resort restaurant in terms of lira does not exceed 100 rubles, and the most expensive dish – 500 rubles. And in the supermarket, 1 kg of chicken fillet is 250 rubles. Price inconvenience is experienced only by those “new Russians” who do not yet have their own housing in Turkey: real estate is becoming more expensive day by day, both in purchase and in rent.

– It’s all the Russians’ fault! – the woman from Saratov, who moved to Istanbul with her family 2 months ago, is outraged. – They come in large numbers, everyone eats without looking, indiscriminately, here the Turks raise prices!
