Officials “Photoshopped” a military man to receive a medal for the Northern Military District; he soon died

In Bashkiria, there was a scandal surrounding the awarding of a SVO participant who was wounded and died the other day.
On September 25, the administration of the Yanaul district announced a “farewell meeting with fellow countryman” Artur Sultangaliev, who participated in a special operation in Ukraine. Attentive users of social networks recalled that two months earlier the administration talked about awarding Sultangaliev with the departmental medal of the Ministry of Defense “Participant of a special military operation” – local media wrote about this with reference to a publication in the official public page of the administration. However, the publication dated July 18 caused a lot of questioning: in the posted photograph of Sultangaliev with a medal, traces of the use of a graphic editor were clearly visible. Judging by the image, the figure of the serviceman was simply “photoshopped” into the award photo.
Users began leaving comments about “very bad photoshop,” and the administration’s response was not long in coming. An entry appeared on behalf of the account administrator: “There is such a thing, I had to do it for some reasons…”
The reasons were clarified after Sultangaliev’s death. As the district administration itself stated, back in January 2023, he “was wounded, and after a long illness, his heart stopped.”
At the moment, the publication about the awarding of a serviceman with an edited photo has been removed from the group of the Yanaul district administration.
