The MK correspondent talked with the defenders and found out how they would celebrate the New Year on the front line.

The commander of the Nezhinsky Guards Tank Regiment with the call sign “Cossack” says that they will celebrate the New Year as conditions and conditions allow.

– Naturally, as a commander, I will go through all the divisions. Of course, there will be no Santa Claus costume, it will just be me, with a beard, – the officer laughs. – I will congratulate the fighters, I will give them letters from relatives, gifts, humanitarian aid. We will organize a New Year’s table, always with tangerines. But alcohol is strictly prohibited, even champagne.

– And what will you decorate the Christmas tree with?

– It’s not a problem. We’ll buy toys, and if it doesn’t work out, we’ll dress up with sneakers, as they did in Syria, ”Cossack” jokes.

The commander promised that, despite the festive mood, the tankers would not relax even for a minute. The Russian military is ready for “congratulations” from the enemy.

An officer of the People’s Militia of the DPR with the call sign “Khimik” says that the soldiers of his unit will celebrate the New Year, some in positions, some in permanent deployment centers, some in hospitals.

– It is clear that the guys in the positions are not particularly up to the holiday. Therefore, they will not have a Christmas tree or other New Year’s decorations.

It is generally difficult to hold any holidays on the front line for the reason that military personnel cannot stay in one place for a long time. And to gather in a large group – too.

If there is a promotion, then as soon as the opportunity arises, the guys take up new positions, and, therefore, they need to re-equip themselves. This also causes a number of problems, since there is not always even light at new positions.

But in the points of permanent deployment, of course, they will try to create a festive atmosphere, there will be a festive table and toys. For those who are now in hospitals, the authorities will definitely come and bring gifts. Of course, no one will have alcohol on the tables this New Year.

– Will there be any special toasts this New Year’s Eve?

– Necessarily. We all understand that the specifics of the work does not give confidence that tomorrow you will still be alive. Therefore, the guys want and wish each other one thing – peace and quickly return to their families.
