OFAS warned Moscow gas stations about the inadmissibility of rising fuel prices – Kommersant

The capital’s antimonopoly department sent warning letters to the largest oil companies engaged in the retail sale of motor fuel. OFAS Moscow reports on preventing an increase in prices for sold fuel.

“Oil companies were warned that if an unjustified increase in retail prices for petroleum products is detected, the antimonopoly authority will take antimonopoly response measures,” the capital’s antimonopoly service clarifies.

In September, against the background of rising prices for gasoline and diesel fuel, the government introducedsystemic measures to maintain stability in the fuel market. The reason for the sharp rise in prices was the halving of payments for dampers.

On September 21, the government introduced a ban on the export of gasoline and diesel fuel. Later on October 6, amendments were made to the tax code to restore the fuel damper, lifting the ban on the export of diesel fuel through pipelines for those who supply at least 50% to the domestic market. The standards for mandatory sales on the exchange of AI-95 gasoline have also been increased to 15%, diesel fuel to 12.5%

The Antimonopoly Agency carries out inspections not only in the capital, but also in other regions of the country. At the beginning of November, 22 antimonopoly cases were opened in 14 regions, the report says. In this regard, today the average consumer price for gasoline decreased by 1.57% compared to the previous month, Interfax reports. The average retail price of diesel fuel at Moscow gas stations also dropped by 1 kopeck for the first time in a month (to 61.88 rubles per liter), RIA Novosti reported, citing data from the Moscow Fuel Association. Before this, prices did not change for a month.
