The press service of the Office of Foreign Assets Control of the US Department of the Treasury issued a statement in which OFAC experts identified possible ways to bypass the ceiling on prices for Russian oil, which was previously introduced by a number of Western countries.
The document notes that Russia allegedly uses ports in the Pacific Ocean for this.
“Russian oil exported through ports in the Pacific Ocean can be traded above the established ceiling,” the department said, adding that these violations can be carried out with the support of certain “persons in the United States”, moreover, out of ignorance.
“U.S. citizens may not be aware that they are providing covert services with Russian oil purchased above the price ceiling,” OFAC said.
