Observers from unfriendly countries will not be invited to the Russian presidential elections – Kommersant

The Russian Central Election Commission has sent out invitations to other countries to participate in observing the Russian presidential elections in March 2024, said CEC member Pavel Andreev. At the same time, it was decided not to invite representatives of unfriendly countries, he clarified.

“The CEC sends invitations only to its counterparties – election authorities in other countries and to international specialized industry bodies. We did not invite the electoral bodies of unfriendly countries,” said “Izvestia” Mr. Andreev. Representatives of the World Association of Electoral Authorities received invitations.

For the first time, presidential elections will take place over three days, from March 15 to 17. There are currently 11 candidates vying for the presidency, including Vladimir Putin. January 9, representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova statedthat the department is studying the situation with holding elections in unfriendly countries.
