Obninsk beach-goers took 2 steps of the podium of the Russian championship. The 14th stage of the championship was held last weekend in Obninsk, Kaluga region.
According to the Ministry of Sports of the region, in the match for the third place, the athletes of the club “Obninsk” Maxim Sivolap and Igor Velichko beat their rivals and won bronze medals. Silver was taken by Alexei Arkhipov and Dmitry Veretyuk, losing in the final game to a pair from the Vityaz club.
The awards were presented to the athletes by Kaluga Governor Vladislav Shapsha and the legendary volleyball player Alexander Savin.
The stage was dedicated to the memory of Vasily Yarzutkin. The final stage before the final of the championship will already be held in Kazan.
