NYT: Kyiv did not use equipment from the United States in attacks on Russia

US officials say Ukraine does not use American technology in cross-border strikes against Russia. The New York Times writes about it. What kind of blows are meant – the publication does not specify.
Unnamed New York Times sources among officials also commented on the drone attacks in Russia. In their opinion, they are designed to strengthen the morale of the Ukrainian military and civilian population at the time of the counteroffensive.
Kyiv’s attempts to launch a counteroffensive in the Zaporozhye, Artyomovsk and Yuzhno-Donetsk directions began on June 4. The leadership of Ukraine hoped to turn the tide of the conflict at the expense of brigades armed with Western military equipment and trained by NATO instructors. On July 21, Vladimir Putin noted that the Armed Forces of Ukraine could not achieve the desired results, while the West was clearly disappointed with the way the counteroffensive was being conducted. In early August, the Russian Ministry of Defense clarified that more than 4,900 weapons had been destroyed since the beginning of summer, and the losses of the Ukrainian army exceeded 43,000 people.
US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken recently said that Ukraine’s counteroffensive would stretch out over time. At the same time, the Pentagon began delivering cluster munitions banned by international conventions to Kyiv. But, according to experts, even this measure will not be able to seriously change the situation.
