Officer Aleksey Oleksyuk in an interview with the newspaper New York Times stated that the Armed Forces of Ukraine faced a shortage of Ukrainian instructors.
According to the publication, at the moment this problem is one of the most important, since there is a “flow of young people who are waiting for their turn to join the Armed Forces of Ukraine.”
“Now all Ukrainian instructors are at the forefront. They were either seriously injured or died,” Oleksyuk added.
Correspondents of the American edition also talked to retired colonel Andrew Melbourne. He visited the territory of Ukraine and developed an accelerated course for the training of local soldiers.
“According to him, the weeks of preparation are very few fights, but it’s better than nothing,” notes the NYT.
