According to Beckett, studies have shown that people lose weight faster if they include pasta in their diet. The only condition is that there are reasonable portions.
Thus, the nutritionist recommends reconsidering the size of portions, rather than completely abandoning pasta.
Another tip is to get whole-grain pasta: they have more healthy fiber, which helps to prolong the feeling of fullness and improve gut health.
In addition, the doctor recommended not to get rid of pasta cooked the day before. Cooled pasta produces starch, which is more resistant to digestion, Beckett says. Such a dish will be relatively healthier than freshly cooked pasta.
Dr. Beckett also said that gluten-free pasta can only be useful for people with gluten intolerance, in other cases they are almost no different from wheat products.
