Nur-Sultan, the capital of Kazakhstan, was officially renamed Astana

According to the newspaper “Kazakhstanskaya Pravda”, on Monday, September 19, the decree of the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on the renaming of the country’s capital from Nur-Sultan to Astana comes into force.
The publication publishes a law on amendments and additions to the constitution, signed by the leader of the country on September 17, where one of the amendments establishes that the capital of Kazakhstan returns to its former name Astana.
Recall that the renaming of Astana to Nur-Sultan took place in March 2019.
