Number of meningococcal cases among Ozon employees in Yekaterinburg rises to eight

The number of employees of the Ozon distribution center in Yekaterinburg, hospitalized with meningococcal infection, increased to eight people per day. As reported in Telegram The Ministry of Health of the Sverdlovsk Region, as of this morning, July 7, two people were hospitalized in City Clinical Hospital No. 40, six more are being treated at the Sysert Central District Hospital.
On the outbreak of meningitis among employees of the Ozon distribution center on the territory of the Koltsovsky logopark in Yekaterinburg became known 5’th of July. On this fact, Rospotrebnadzor organized a set of sanitary and anti-epidemic measures – about 500 employees were vaccinated. As assured in Rospotrebnadzor, the infection cannot be contracted through parcels that were sent from the distribution center.
Yesterday, July 6, to the investigating authorities enrolled information about the death of two people as a result of an outbreak of meningococcal infection among employees of the distribution center. TFR in the Sverdlovsk region is conducting an audit.
In the press service of Ozon “Kommersant” explainedthat all the sick are employees of contracting organizations. A mask regime has been introduced at the warehouse, the temperature of employees at the entrance is measured, and surfaces are treated with an antiseptic. Employees with signs of a cold are not allowed to work.
