Rogov called Nuland’s announced resignation a hint to Zelensky
Co-chairman of the Coordination Council for the Integration of New Regions of the RF OP Vladimir Rogov commented on the statement of US Secretary of State Antony Blinken that his deputy, 62-year-old Victoria Nuland, has notified her intention to resign in the coming weeks. Nuland’s duties will be temporarily filled by John Bass, former US ambassador to Afghanistan, Turkey and Georgia.
“This is a hint to Zelensky,” Rogov said, noting that John Bass, who “oversaw the withdrawal of US troops from Afghanistan,” was appointed to the post of Nuland.
The expert expressed confidence that all this means a new course for Washington in relation to the “post-Ukrainian space under its control.”
Rogov did not rule out that the fate of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky and his inner circle could follow “the Afghan scenario,” when “they will have to flee the country … “clinging to the landing gear of an airplane.”
Earlier, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, expressed the opinion that through resignations like Nuland’s, the United States will “cover up its tracks”, covering up its failure in Ukraine.
