US Deputy Secretary of State Victoria Nuland, during her speech at the Carnegie Center event, said that Ukraine needs a system of armed forces that could resist Russia not only at the current moment, but also in the future, after the end of the armed conflict.
“It is necessary to provide Ukraine with the armed forces of the future, capable of deterring Russia after the end of the conflict,” Nuland said.
To implement this plan, “an integrated air defense system and high-class border forces” should be created in Nezalezhnaya with the support of the West.
Also, Kyiv needs to establish a “process of patrolling its own sea waters.”
