The nuclear submarines Knyaz Oleg and Novosibirsk have arrived at their permanent base in Kamchatka, the Russian Defense Ministry reports.
It is noted that the nuclear-powered missile submarine Knyaz Oleg (project 885A, Borey-A) and the nuclear-powered cruise missile submarine Novosibirsk (project 885M, Yasen-M) made the transition from the Northern Fleet to the Pacific Fleet.
A significant part of the route, about 5.5 thousand miles, the submarine passed under the ice of the Arctic. Novosibirsk, as part of the Umka-2022 Arctic expedition, launched an Oniks anti-ship cruise missile from the Chukchi Sea over water at a sea target.
In Vilyuchinsk, the cruisers were received by the commander of the submarine forces of the Russian Pacific Fleet, Vice Admiral Vladimir Dmitriev.
