The Belgorod nuclear submarine will enter service with the Russian Navy in 2023. This was announced by the Commander-in-Chief of the Navy, Admiral Nikolai Evmenov.
“As the president said, we will accept this year,” Mr. Evmenov said in a conversation with “RIA News” at the International Naval Show in Kronstadt.
The Belgorod nuclear submarine was built from 1992 to 2020. Its construction was frozen, in 2012 work was resumed. In 2019, Belgorod was launched, and in 2021, tests began on it. It is expected that she will be part of the Pacific Fleet. The submarine is the carrier of Poseidon underwater nuclear drones.
