A natural phenomenon resembling a “nuclear mushroom” that frightened the inhabitants of Kazan the night before turned out to be a kind of cumulonimbus clouds. This is reported “RIA News”.
Photos of such a natural phenomenon that appeared over Kazan were published the day before in social networks.
“Warm air is lighter than cold air and can be seen rising into the middle layers of the atmosphere in the form of a mushroom cloud. This atmospheric phenomenon is called an inversion or an anvil cloud,” the Ministry of Ecology of Tatarstan specified.
According to the ministry, this type of cloud is special, it rises to a height of about 12-15 km, after which it begins to blur. At the same time, the excess of the permissible content of pollutants in Kazan was not revealed.
