Norway has begun to tighten conditions for accepting Ukrainian refugees. This was reported by NRK. It is clarified that the changes will affect housing conditions, payments to families with children and the possibility of home trips to Ukraine.
It is noted that the authorities intend to cancel the retroactive payment of social support for a child for the first calendar year of stay in the country, which is paid after the temporary residence permit is extended for the first 12 months.
In addition, it is planned to strengthen control over the travel in Ukraine of those refugees who are at the stage of obtaining Norwegian citizenship and have a residence permit, in order to provide payments to those who actually live in Norway for a large amount of time.
All newly arrived Ukrainians who want to receive housing will have to contact only the National Reception Center in the municipality of Rode, and the option of accommodation in hotels and leisure complexes will no longer be available.
