Vladimir Putin held a meeting with the losing candidates in the presidential elections. The focus of the discussion was the further improvement of national legislation, including in the social sphere. After this, all participants went to a concert to mark the tenth anniversary of the reunification of Crimea with Russia. Kommersant FM political commentator Dmitry Drize believes that the main thing for the Kremlin is events on the external track.

Vladimir Putin held an official meeting in the Kremlin with the losing candidates in the presidential elections in the Russian Federation. As you know, there are three of them. All of them with undisguised joy congratulated the head of state on his victory and discussed in a business-like manner exactly how to improve the lives of citizens in the new political cycle. At the end of the conversation, everyone went together to a rally-concert on the occasion of the tenth anniversary of the reunification of Crimea and Russia. This is the first time this has happened, however, it seems logical in order to confirm unity in solving the urgent problems facing the country in difficult times.

Meanwhile, it makes sense to say a few words regarding the debutant of the presidential elections – the political party “New People”, or “New People” for short. They were represented in the electoral process by the deputy chairman of the State Duma and the corresponding faction in the lower house, Vladislav Davankov. During the campaign, it might have seemed that his opinion sounded somewhat out of tune with generally accepted assessments of events taking place in the country and the world. And even, it’s scary to think, but in protest he was supported by, say, various unconstructive elements, including abroad.

So, Vladislav Davankov, like the rest of the meeting participants, congratulated Vladimir Putin on yet another tremendous success and spoke out for an early victory in the special military operation, noting that there is no justification for the actions of the Kyiv regime.

However, according to him, it is necessary to achieve sustainable peace so as not to leave this confrontation to future generations. Citizens who met with candidate Davankov openly admitted that they would vote for Putin. To a reasonable question: “Why did we meet then?”, he himself answered: “To convey to the highest authorities the hopes and aspirations of a common man.” From the outside, however, it might seem that Vladislav Andreevich spoke not entirely confidently.

Be that as it may, the story about a certain alternative point of view in Russian domestic politics can be considered complete, so let’s move on to international events.

Most of the unfriendly countries decided not to congratulate Vladimir Putin on his victory. However, such demarches to openly refuse to recognize the results of the elections as a whole have not been recorded at present. Moreover, US Representative to the UN Linda Thomas-Greenfield proposed that Moscow and Beijing begin negotiations on arms control. The Russian Foreign Ministry, in turn, called such an initiative hypocrisy.

In this regard, we can assume with a considerable degree of confidence that events on the so-called external track will be the main ones in the near future.

As for the LDPR, the Communist Party of the Russian Federation and the “New People”, they have difficult work ahead of them in the field of further improvement of Russian legislation without politicking and unnecessary PR. Now is not the time for this.
