Novgorod swimmer won two gold medals at the Russian Cup

An athlete from Veliky Novgorod, Yegor Babinich, won two gold medals at the first stage of the Russian Swimming Cup, which took place in Kaliningrad, the Ministry of Sports of the Novgorod Region reported.
Egor Babinich became the winner in the 1500 and 400 meters freestyle. He completed the first in 15 minutes 53 seconds, and the second in 3 minutes 56 seconds. At the 400-meter race, the Novgorodian literally snatched victory: the participant who took second place came only 66 milliseconds later.
The swimmer trains at the Sports Training Center of the Novgorod Region and is a student of Olympic Reserve Sports School No. 1.
“We congratulate Egor and his coach Elena Ivanova on their successful performance and wish them new victories!” – says the publication of the regional Ministry of Sports.
Earlier it was reported that Novgorod resident Tatyana Cherkasova took the gold Russian indoor rowing championship.
