Today, September 9, FC Elektron from Veliky Novgorod will host St. Petersburg Zvezda. A few hours before the match, the Novgorod club announced the name of the new head coach of the team. They became the Belarusian specialist Sergei Vekhtev. His last club was Peresvet near Moscow.
Previously, the specialist worked as an assistant and head coach at Vitebsk, led Orsha and the women’s team of Vitebsk. During his playing career, Vekhtev played not only in Belarusian teams, but also in the German Borussia and Dulmen, the Kaliningrad Baltika and the Chinese Wuhan Hongtao. He has four matches for the national team of Belarus.
Recall that on September 7, coach Vitaly Miller left Electron. Under his leadership, the Novgorodians played eight games in the Second League and scored five points – they won one, drew twice and suffered five defeats.
The team will play the next match today at 19:00 with Zvezda, which is led by ex-Spartak player Dmitry Kombarov.
