An athlete from the Novgorod region Nadezhda Sokolova won a gold medal at the international wrestling tournament in Romania. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Sports of the region.
The tournament was held in Bucharest from 17 to 20 August. The Novgorod freestyle excelled in competitions in the weight category up to 50 kilograms. It is noted that these were the first major competitions in which Russian wrestlers participated after a long break.
It is reported that in addition to Nadezhda Sokolova, Russian athletes Natalya Malysheva and Svetlana Lipatova took the first places at the tournament in Romania. Another five freemen from Russia won prizes.
