Novaya Gazeta fined 500,000 rubles for discrediting the RF Armed Forces

The Tagansky court in Moscow fined Novaya Gazeta for half a million rubles for discrediting the Russian Armed Forces, informs REN TV.
The protocol in the case of “public actions aimed at discrediting the use of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation” (part 1 of article 20.3.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) was drawn up on the basis of two articles published by the newspaper. Linguistic examination of the materials confirmed the discrediting of the Russian army.
Recall that in September 2022, Novaya Gazeta, at the suit of Roskomnadzor, was deprived of its license due to the late submission of the editorial charter.
Novaya Gazeta ceased operations in March 2022. Then the publication received a second warning from the RKN for violating Russian laws. The warning was due to the lack of labeling of a foreign agent organization in one of the articles in the publication.
