Novatek» called for the creation of a program to support technologies for the production of hard-to-recover gas. Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Company Vladimir Kudrin approached the government with such a proposal.

“I’ll give an example of a localization roadmap [технологий] LNG. Without government support, creating such a technological base seemed impossible. It would be right to extend this support mechanism to deep horizon mining technologies [запасов газа]“he said at the TNF Industrial and Energy Forum (quote according to TASS).

According to Kudrin, historically the main gas production region in Russia was the Nadym-Pur-Taz region, and now the Cenomanian stage (where it is easiest to produce gas) is 80% depleted. Production in the region is complicated by the difficulty of developing these reserves and expensive technologies, the deputy chairman said.

In addition, according to the deputy minister’s estimates, if we only engage in the development of new gas provinces, then these 5 trillion cubic meters. m of hard-to-recover reserves will be lost to the country. Kudrin added that their production potential is about 70 billion cubic meters. m per year

In the summer, Deputy Minister of Finance of the Russian Federation Alexey Sazanov statedthat the department is ready to consider tax incentives for the production of hard-to-recover reserves (TRIZ) of oil and gas no earlier than 2027.

As Kasatkin Consulting partner Dmitry Kasatkin explained in an interview with Vedomosti, TRIZ now accounts for a third of hydrocarbon reserves in Russia, and if you look at the remaining reserves, “difficult” oil accounts for about 70%. Therefore, according to the expert, it is impossible to do without benefits for TRIZ development projects.
