Novak: Russia increased oil supplies to India by 22 times in 2022

In 2022, Russia redirected oil supplies to friendly countries, including India, increasing exports to this country by 22 times compared to 2021. This was announced by Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak during the final meeting of the collegium of the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation.
“Most of our energy resources have been redirected to other markets, to the markets of friendly countries. If we take, for example, oil supplies to India, they increased 22 times last year,” he said (cit. according to TASS).
Earlier, Reuters, citing data from the International Energy Agency, reported that India increased deliveries of Russian oil by 16 times. It accounts for about a third of all deliveries to the country.
Novak also added that Russia has increased oil supplies to China. According to Chinese customs, according to the results of 2022, Russia took second place in terms of oil supplies to China, losing first place to Saudi Arabia. Last year, Russia supplied China with 86.25 million tons of oil, or 1.72 million barrels per day, which is 8.3% more than in 2021. Russia also increased LNG exports by 43.9% to 6.5 million tons .
