Why did they take up arms against Igor Kornelyuk?
This year’s television festival turned out to be one of the most scandalous in history. Numbers of several performers were removed from television broadcasts. Lolita, Kirkorov and Anna Asti – for appearing at the “naked party”. Revva – for an ambiguous position, and Kudryavtsev and Gordon – for excessive activity on social networks.
However, there is a solid list of stars who quite recently were actively rocking the stage, but now they have stopped inviting them. Among them are Masha Rasputina, Aziza, Anita Tsoi, Tatyana Bulanova, Irina Saltykova, Alexander Serov. Stas Piekha and Slava are also not welcome at the festival.
In the 80s and 90s, few people imagined “Song of the Year” without Igor Kornelyuk. Everyone remembers his bright performances: “Ticket to the Ballet” – in 1989, “Rains” – in 1990, “Cool” – in 1998, The last time Igor was invited was in 2003. Then he performed his hit from “Gangster Petersburg” – “The City That Doesn’t Exist.” Since then – for twenty years – Kornelyuk has not appeared on the festival stage. He told MK about why he was removed from the song festival.
“I’m not involved in this whole story: I just don’t play these games,” says Igor. – It stopped being interesting to me. I’m not eager to go there and I’m not submitting any applications.
Kornelyuk says that he has no contact with the father of the current event, Igor Krutoy.
“We practically don’t communicate with Igor Krutoy now,” the singer continues. – Once upon a time we communicated a lot, but that was a very long time ago. Back in the 80s.
“I have no grudge,” Kornelyuk assures. “I just don’t show any initiative myself because of the pointlessness of it all.” I’m doing something a little different, that’s all. Now I’m more interested in writing music for films and plays. The songs became not very interesting to me.
