Johannes Klebo, Norwegian skier and five-time Olympic champion, won the opening race of the third leg of the Tour de Ski. He won the sixth gold medal in the tournament and became the record holder for the number of wins in a row.
Previously, the record of victories belonged to the Russians Sergey Ustyugov and Alexander Bolshunov, as well as the Norwegian skier Marit Bjorgen – in different years they won the stages of the Tour de Ski five times in a row.
At the European stage race this year, Russian athletes do not compete due to disqualification amid the outbreak of hostilities in Ukraine. 2nd place after Klebo in the overall men’s standings is occupied by the Swedish skier Kalle Halfvarsson, 3rd – by the representative of Italy Federico Pellegrino.
