Competitions in national sports were held in the Murmansk region as part of the Northern Holiday. One of them was dedicated to the Day of the reindeer breeder.
Professionals and amateurs gathered in the village of Lovozero, the capital of the Kola Saami. 124 people participated in the reindeer sledding competition, including guests from the Arctic from Moscow, St. Petersburg and Sochi.
The press service of the Ministry of Sports of the Murmansk Region reported that the spectators and fans were not bored. They organized a master class on throwing the lasso on the horns. Also, everyone could test themselves in crossbow shooting.
Despite such entertainment, most observers were carried away by the races themselves. Reindeer sleds have been driven in the Murmansk region since 1929.
Earlier, “MK in Murmansk” said that in the Murmansk region to participate in the ski marathon will come professionals from all over Russia.
