One of the most titled clubs in the history of Russian women’s futsal may revive after a year of absence and inactivity. In the 2022-2023 season, St. Petersburg was represented by Kristall in the Russian Futsal Championship among women and became the champion, beating Normanochka from Nizhny Novgorod in the final match.
Previously, “Aurora” represented St. Petersburg, and it was the confrontation between “Normanochka” and one of the oldest futsal clubs in the country that was a classic of Russian women’s futsal. In the 2023-2024 season, Aurora may revive and play again in the elite division, but no longer as an independent club.
Nikolai Khodov, president of the PKMF Torpedo, is interested in the return of Aurora to the number of participants in the Russian Championship, on the basis of the club from St. Petersburg, he plans to make a backup team for Normanochka, where young football players from Nizhny Novgorod will receive game practice.
