Futsal players from Nizhny Novgorod “Norman” continue to compete in the regular championship of the PARI-Major League for the 2023-2024 season. The team from Nizhny Novgorod is spending its fourth season at the Major League level and was able to gain a foothold in the first half of the standings. The youth team of “Torpedo” got off to a great start, but throughout December they lost exclusively and lost far to their competitors representing the Communist Party of the Russian Federation-2 and “Fakel” from Surgut. Norman’s unsuccessful streak has intensified the fight for access to the Western Conference playoffs.
On January 27, the Nizhny Novgorod team played in an away match against the main outsider of the regular season – MFK Rostov. The yellow-blacks spent most of this season at a weak level and settled in last place, gaining only 5 points based on the results of 15 matches played. After the first half, Norman led with a score of 1:0, and then the Nizhny Novgorod team increased their advantage by converting scoring chances. The final siren sealed Norman’s victory with a score of 5:1 in regulation time.
Norman will play the next match of the PARI-Major League regular season on February 3. The Nizhny Novgorod team will play away against Gazprom-Yugra from Yugorsk.
